The final veteran event of the year will be the 2024 World Judo Championships Veterans, held in Las Vegas. This event will bring together over 1,500 judoka from 68 countries between 4-7 November, converging in the city of lights to compete on the mat and reunite with friends from around the world.
Europe will be well represented, with athletes from 34 countries, including multiple-time European and veteran world champions such as Hendrik KOPPE (NED), Farhad RAJABLI (AZE) and Mihail MALEAR (MDA). President Joe RAGAN, along with the Board of Directors, staff, and members of USA Judo, looks forward to warmly welcoming all participants.
Dear Judo Friends and Family,
On behalf of USA Judo, welcome to the United States of America and the 2024 Las Vegas World Veterans and Kata Championships. The United States is thrilled to host an International Judo Federation competition for the first time in many years. As the entertainment capital of the world and the home of many premier sporting competitions and events, Las Vegas will serve as an excellent host city for the 2024 Las Vegas World Veterans and Kata Championships. Judo in the USA is continuing to grow, and we are excited to welcome back our esteemed international judoka and friends as we prepare for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, just four hours away from Las Vegas.
Our sincere thanks to IJF President Mr Marius Vizer, the IJF Veterans and Kata Committees, and IJF staff for granting the United States the opportunity to host this prestigious event. We appreciate the leadership of President Vizer and the IJF’s dedication to raising the bar on creating and executing some of the best organised events in the international sporting community. We also extend our appreciation to MGO Events for collaborating with USA Judo in the organisation and implementation of these championships. These relationships are a perfect display of “mutual welfare and benefit” – the ideology which Professor Kano created for our great sport.
We are committed to upholding the principles and values of judo and providing a world class environment for shiai and kata athletes. In a country that celebrates diversity and international cultures, we look forward to celebrating the spirit of judo and demonstrating the beauty of friendship and respect for the world to see. We look forward to welcoming participating judoka, IJF leaders, officials, organisers, and fans for a fun and memorable experience in Las Vegas, Nevada USA and look forward to seeing you soon!
