More than 500 athletes from 29 countries have inscribed for the Cadets European Cup which will be held during this weekend in Teplice, Czech Republic. The tournament exceptionally takes place one week after the strong Berlin tournament and one week before the Bielsko Biala European Cup and that is why the number of participants is lower than in previous years. Nevertheless the quality of the tournament will surely be very high. The complete Russian team which was the most successful in Berlin last weekend will take part in the Teplice tournament. Hungarian team which has skipped the tournament in Berlin is coming to Teplice in its full strength. Kazakhstan cadets are willing to challenge the best Europeans and have chosen Teplice and Bielsko Biala to test their skills. For many athletes the tournament in Teplice is one of the last chances to qualify for the European championships. The home crowd expects the most from the Czech heavy weights. Daniel Uher (+90 kg) took the bronze in Coimbra and placed fifth in Berlin has already secured his place for Athens. Marketa Paulusova (+70 kg) who also took the bronze in Portugal placed fifth in Teplice last year. Today she is one year older and more skilful and she definitely wants to be the first Czech cadet since 2009 to win a medal in Teplice. The competition starts on Saturday at 10:00.
