Tata Is Set to Welcome the World’s Best Judoka

The prestigious Tata Olympic Training Camp, known in Hungary as Tatai Edzőtábor, is once again opening its doors to the global judo elite. Beginning officially on 7 April, with international delegations arriving from Sunday, 6 April. Over 450 judoka from nearly 50 countries will gather in the historic lakeside town of Tata for the final preparation before the European Judo Championships Seniors Podgorica 2025.

The location represents decades of tradition, excellence and unity. Since its founding, this complex has hosted generations of Olympic hopefuls, not only in judo but in other Olympic disciplines too. The site offers a home to several sports, providing sportsmanship and international friendship in an elite high-performance setting. Over the years, it has become a revered institution in the sport’s calendar, a place where champions are not only made but where their journeys are shared.

This year, the camp will once again highlight the truly inclusive spirit of judo, a discipline unlike any other. Unique among Olympic sports, judo brings together both Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the same tatami. That rare unity will be on full display in Tata as Paralympic icons such as France’s Helios Latchoumanaya and Romania’s Alexandru Bologa join forces with world-class names, including reigning Olympic, World, and European titleholders, such as Hidayat Heydarov (AZE), Lukas Krpalek (CZE) and Distria Krasniqi (KOS).
