In the -90kg category, there were some surprise early exits, including that of the top seed, Nemanja MAJDOV (SRB) who lasted only eight seconds on the tatami, but the only medal taken in the category came from IJF representative, Eldar ALLAKHVERDIEV. After battling through the repechage, he faced Yahor VARAPAYEU (IJF) for the bronze medal, and the pair delved in to golden score before a third shido was issued to Varapayeu.

In an opposite scenario, the -78kg women secured three of the available four medals, though the gold was issued to MA Zhenzhao (CHN) as Alina BOEHM (GER) was unable to compete in the final. Boehm left with the silver after defeating team mate, Anna Monta OLEK in the semi final with tight shime waza. This is only the second time the two German athletes have met on the IJF World Judo Tour and the record is now 1:1. Of course this semi final loss for Olek sent her to the bronze contest with Nadezhda TATARCHENKO (IJF), and she was determined to leave with a medal. Within the first minute she scored yuko with uchi mata, and then only a minute later had found her adjustment to reattempt her uchi mata, this time scoring ippon.

The third and final medallist was Olympic silver medallist Inbar LANIR (ISR), who was swift on her transitions for the bronze medal. Firstly throwing Karol GIMENES (BRA) but missing the score, she wasted no time and moved immediately on to an open arm to get the submission with juji gatame.

In the -100kg category, Adam SANGARIEV (IJF) tried to take on the current European Champion, Matvey KANIKOVSKIY (IJF), and feeling the danger from the latter, Sangriev went to the ground to avoid the throw. This turned out to be a huge mistake as Kanikovskiy worked in ne waza to secure osaekomi and the gold medal this year in Tashkent.

Julia TOLOFUA (FRA) was the only European medallist in the +78kg category, and after three minutes of a hard fought contest with Nazgul MARATOVA (KAZ), she took the bronze medal as her opponents ceded three shidos. Alike the -100kg, there was an all IJF final in the +100kg category between the current Junior World Champion, Denis BATCHAEV and Valerii ENDOVITSKII. This time however, the two capable athletes found themselves in a stalemate and it was Endovitskii that ended up picking up three shidos.
