STÉPHANE NOMIS CONFIRMED IN OFFICE

President Stéphane NOMIS was re-elected until 2028 at the General Assembly of the National Judo Federation of France ( FFJDA) with 67.5% of the vote. Opposing candidate Frank OPITZ achieved 32.5 %. This is the 54-year-old entrepreneur’s second term in office. The election was held digitally, and for the first time – in accordance with the new Sports Act of 2022 – the club presidents also took part directly in the election.

“I am convinced that we have had four good years, this is the result of good teamwork – we have succeeded in bringing together all the players in French judo and pulling in the same direction,” said Stéphane Nomis, expressing his thanks.

FFJDA currently has over 540,000 licensed members and 5,200 clubs. The federation has won no fewer than 70 Olympic medals to date, 18 of them gold (2 in Paris – Teddy Riner, Mixed Team).
