Spain tops the medal tally at the European Cup for Cadets in Portugal. Today Spain again won a ship of medals, 12 in total additional to the 11 of yesterday. Spain was dominant in eight weight categories. Switzerland collected the second place with two gold medals, one adding to yesterday’s gold medal. Host country Portugal finished third under the presency of the Mayor of Miranda do Corvo where the event was held, nearby Coimbra.
One of the most exciting finals today was the one under 73kg between David Tekic of Germany and Nuno Saraiva (POR) supported by his home crowd. The match was decided only in the last second of the golden score by David Tekic, excited until the end and pure sport, although the home crowd obviously wasn’t too happy about the result.
