Goygol once again welcomes the finest young judoka from Europe and other continents. On May 4-5, the Cadet European Cup will take place in one of Azerbaijan’s most scenic regions, gathering teams from fifteen countries. The hosts, known for Azerbaijan’s rich judo traditions and consistently emerging talented youth, are the main contenders for victory.
The Cadet European Cup in Goygol presents a chance to witness the top athletes of their generation in action. Last year, the local athletes dominated the overall tournament standings, securing 7 gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Türkiye finished second (3-4-5), followed by Georgia in third place (2-2-2). What will the outcome be this time? Competitors from France, Croatia, Serbia, Georgia, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, as well as Individual Neutral Athletes, will participate. The Azerbaijani national team is fielding a strong squad of 147 athletes (102 boys and 45 girls). The competition on the tatami promises to be fierce, with the support of the home crowd likely to inspire the Azerbaijani judoka to excel once more.
