To all of our European Judo Family,
I would like to send best wishes on behalf of the European Judo Union during this festive period and to conclude an exceptionally successful year.
Not only can we celebrate the triumph of our Olympic medallists in Paris 2024, but we can be proud in the knowledge that we have extended our judo family with the introduction of adapted judo and the U15 Hopes Cup.
In this past year, the European Judo Union has expressed the importance of education, and thanks to the cooperation of the Kodokan, we can say that we are living by the founders belief. As Jigoro Kano stated, “It won’t do for far-thinking people to place importance on winning or losing.” By embedding this belief and moral strength in to our judoka, we hope that they will see the importance of simply striving to be better than the day before.
This is our hope, to bring our values to the future generations. This time of year is a period of reflection, to see the steps we have taken to bring joy to one another, both within this sport and in our daily lives. After all, Judo is more than sport.
Our appreciation goes out to our colleagues and those supporting our Union to make it what it is today. We wish you a happy new year.
