In 2022, The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were regularly in action, executing four events throughout the year.
For the European Judo Union, there were extraordinary hosts, initially with a European Open, then a Senior European Cup and rounding off the year with the U23 European Championships. The highlight for the federation however, was the opportunity to host the IJF Cadet World Championships at the end of summer. Now after a well deserved recuperation period, we go again, this weekend with the Junior European Cup.
Almost 300 athletes from 18 nations are gathering over the two-day event. Some of the highest ranked entries are in fact from Canada, a strong junior team is forming, mirroring the success of their senior counterparts, but leading the charge is Polish athlete in the -60kg category, Ksawery IGNASIAK, the current Junior European Champion.
However, even the top athletes need to watch their backs, with a 70-strong home team coming to test the waters and hopefully swipe as many medals as possible in the process.
