Mixed-Team Europeans Travels to Serbia

Serbia to Host the 2026 European Judo Championships Mixed Team Event. The official handover ceremony took place this afternoon in Podgorica, marking the conclusion of the 2025 European Championships. During the ceremony, Mr. Milovan Bratić, President of the Executive Board of the Serbian Judo Federation, proudly accepted the honour and received the EJU flag on behalf of Serbia.

Serbia has embraced the mixed team judo format with energy and passion, steadily building its presence at the European level. In 2024, the Serbian team earned a bronze medal at the European Championships in Zagreb. Mixed team competitions have also become an important part of judo development nationally, promoting gender balance and strengthening team unity among young athletes.

Mr Bratic shared his excitement following the ceremony: “It is a great privilege for Serbia to receive the flag and host the Mixed Team Championships next year. This honour reflects Serbia’s strong position within the European Judo Union, the excellent results of our athletes, and the dedicated leadership of the Serbian Judo Federation. I am confident we will organise a successful event with many teams participating, showcasing our passion and hospitality. In Serbia, judo is very popular, every event, even our national championships, fills the stands. I believe the atmosphere will be fantastic, and we look forward to welcoming the whole European judo family.”
