The Montenegro Judo Federation has gone for the full package and after delivering a successful competition, up to mid-week, an international training camp is taking place. The turnout both in quality and quantity is optimistic and whilst pioneering yet another practice, we have asked the coaches for their experience over in Podgorica.
Jasper HUITSING, National Coach of Luxembourg
It’s been a great experience being part of this first European Junior Cup in Podgorica. The local organizers were warm and friendly, making sure everyone has a pleasant stay. I am looking forward being present again at future cups and championships here in Podgorica.

The training camp in Podgorica is a great way to start the year and prepare for the junior tour. A lot of randori and good atmosphere. Great choice to stay for camp after toe competition!
Johan JOHANSSON, Aktiv Judo Club – Sweden
Podgorica U21 camp offered good training for our judoka to develop to higher goals towards the next European competitions. Good organisation and great advantage with a hotel and training facility within walking distance.
Ilija VUKOTIC, Head Coach of the Montenegrin Judo Federation
As coach of host nation, I am very satisfied with number of participants on the camp. They all gave us a chance to put our athletes in front of some new tasks. For most of them it is a great chance to grow. Also, I am sure that every next edition of Podgorica events will be better because of the experience of our friends from Europe, who only had great words about our effort. Thank you for your attendance and we are happy to see you again in Podgorica.
This officially concludes our first trip (in a while) to this part of the Balkans and within six months, we look forward to our return for the Podgorica Senior European Cup 2024.
