Matic exemplifies the judo values and is a prominent leader in the world of judo.
This year has been nothing short of incredible. Winning Olympic gold was a dream come true and the highlight of my career so far. It’s a moment I’ll cherish forever and a reminder of how the hard work, resilience, and passion it takes, pays off. Ending 2024 as Europe’s World Ranked #1 feels like the perfect way to close out such a special year. I’m so grateful for my team, family and fans who have supported me every step of the way. Here’s to an exciting 2025!
Following the Tokyo Olympic Games, Matic started anew. It was a tough conclusion during a tough period for many athletes, but she came back stronger and levelled up to become a celebrated and decorated athlete, both on the judo scene and off, most recently accepting an award as Athlete of the Year from the National Olympic Committee.
