Madrid has long been a key destination on the calendar for the judo community. On 7 September, the city will play host to the Madrid Kata Tournament 2024. The Pabellón Polideportivo Francisco Valcárcel Arena will serve as a vital platform for athletes preparing to compete in Las Vegas in November at the World Judo Championship Kata 2024.
The Kata recognised for this tournament for Seniors:
- Nage-no-Kata
- Katame-no-Kata
- Ju-no-Kata
- Kime-no-Kata
- Kodokan-Goshin-Jutsu
There will be three (3) categories recognised for all Juniors:
- Nage-no-Kata (5 sets-all Kata)
- Katame-no-kata (3 sets- all Kata)
- Ju-no-Kata (2 first sets)
There will be only one category for the Cadet group to compete in:
- Nage-no-Kata (3 sets – Te Waza, Koshi Waza and Ashi Waza)
The up-to-date version of the IJF Criteria for Kata Evaluation 2024 will be used to judge the Kata with reference also to the official Kodokan edition of textbook.
Deadline to register via Judobase is August 30th, 2024.
