One week left to register to the next Children Kata Festival & Kata Seminar in cooperation with the European Judo Union which is to be held in Ljubljana on the 25th of May.
After Iceland, the Children Kata Festival project continues in Slovenia. The festival will bring together coaches and judoka from several countries who will attend the seminar composed of several parts. On the first day, a workshop is going to be held with a presentation of the methodology of working with children. It should be noted that kata for children is only a tool that helps learning and adopting basic judo techniques and principles, designed in a fun and child-friendly way.
The second day will be split into two sections. The morning part will be carried out with children and coaches in such a way that the coaches will immediately be able to transfer their newly obtained knowledge to the children in practice. EJU experts will be on site to assist the session thus will be encouraging the transformation of theoretical knowledge into practical application. The afternoon session on day two will include presentations of all attendees judo kata knowledge and children will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge front of coaches and parents. Depending on the quality of the acquired knowledge, an EJU certificate is going to be distributed.
The European Judo Union forethoughts to organise several more children kata festivals this year. The location of these events are yet to be confirmed, for now however, don’t miss the registration to attend the next one at the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.
