During the 76th EJU Ordinary Congress, honours and awards were announced to recognise long standing service and support as well as to highlight examples of the judo values in practice within our community.
Initially, Honours were awarded to President of the European Judo Union, Dr László TOTH by the President of Ukraine, Dr Mykhailo KOSHLIAK, as a thanks for support. Secondly, following 25 years of service, Otto KNEITINGER was celebrated with his 6th Dan, handed by Jean-Luc ROUGE.
Special Awards of Appreciation went out to Partners; Ippon Gear, Adidas and Essimo.
Best European Event of 2023: Montpellier Senior European Championships
Best Organiser 2023: Kosovo for European Open Championships
Fair Play Award 2023: Maya KOSZEGI (GER) and Mate GVELESIANI (GEO)
Order of Merit: Richard GALEO DEBONO, Oleksandr NAGIBIN and Otto KNEITINGER
