Judo father Sensei Kiyoshi Kobayashi passed away

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing away of Sensei Kiyoshi Kobayashi.

Sensei Kobayashi was the «father» of Portuguese judo and one of the founders of the Portuguese Judo Federation. It is with deep regret that we announce this sad news and we express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Sensei Kobayashi passed away on 9 September 2013, at the age of 88 years. Throughout his life, Kiyoshi Kobayashi had a key role in the development of Portuguese Judo, including in the genesis of the Portuguese Judo Federation and will be remembered forever as the greatest promoter of our sport in Portugal. Sensi Kobayashi was one of the highest grades in the world, 9th dan given Kodokan by in 1999. The Judo family is grieving.
