A National High-Performance Coach (0.5 F/T) to service the coaching delivery for the 2028 Olympic Programme with the National Performance Lead Coach. This will require regular contact with the athlete cohort based at the HP training centre in Camberley (UK) and other locations if they arise and assist in the delivery of the International Judo Federation Tour including European & World Championships, Olympic Qualification programme and the international training camps required to prepare for same.

The Performance Manager is responsible for the overall strategic delivery of the IJA 2020-28 Performance Strategy “Fighting Forward”. The role is to lead and direct the IJA High Performance and National Squad Programmes, and to achieve player qualification and medal winning success at significant international competitions including the IJF World Tour, European Championships, World Championships and Olympic Games in line with the targets agreed with Sport Ireland. The Performance Manager will work closely with all support partners to implement a multi-dimensional support programme, incorporating experts in the delivery of sport science and medical support to ensure the optimum needs of the athletes are met. The Performance Manager is responsible to the IJA President and will periodically update the IJA Board and present a report at the Irish Judo Association AGM on Performance.

In coordination with the Head of Performance Sport / Head Coach, you will be responsible for the development, monitoring and success of athletes in the Elite category. You will prepare the judokas to achieve top results at international championships (Europe, World) and obtain Olympic qualification for as many athletes as possible. In this role, you will work alongside the Head of Performance Sport/Elite Head Coach to help the team achieve the sporting objectives set by the Federation Committee. In addition, you will work with the athletes at the National Performance Centre East on a daily basis.
