This weekend the first EJU Expert project: “Improve you Club” was held in Lignano, Italy. Main EJU Expert was Jean Pierre Gibert who explained all about teaching young children in the age category 8-12 years old.
Education and coaching are the objectives of the European Judo Union and EJU Expert is one of the projects activated to reach this goal. Monitored by Franco Capelletti (EJU Vice President, Education commission chairman), the programme is managed by Ezio Gamba who, together with ten other world known coaches developed a technical programme that started in June in order to educate trainers and coaches to motivate youngsters to training and confrontation. Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th January, the EJU Expert arrived in Italy for the first time during Judo Winter Camp at Palagetur in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Jean Pierre Gibert managed the seminar named “Technical development to teach to young judoka of 8 -12 years-old”. The seminar was divided in four sessions (Saturday and Sunday 11-12:30 and 16-17:30). The seminar is organised by Fijlkam Fvg in collaboration with Dlf Yama Arashi Udine that is also organising from 3rd to 6th January the Winter Camp, where athletes of 13 nations will be present. Among them Ezio Gamba and 33 Russian champions (M-F), the Slovenian team of Marjan Fabian with Urska Zolnir, Lucija Polavder, and Rok Draksic; the main Italian National team with Francesco Bruyere, Mike Swain and an American team that includes Sato Aiko, 2011 World gold medallist (57 kg) and Marty Malloy, bronze in London and 2013 World silver medallist (57), the Swiss team with Giorgio Vismara and Great Britain, Belgium, South Africa, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and San Marino.
