On Wednesday afternoon, Salzburg’s Sports Secretary Stefan SCHNÖLL paid a short visit to the Olympic Training Camp in Mittersill. Currently, 781 judoka from 50 nations are guests in Pinzgau – including 7 world ranking first, 14 Olympic champions and 5 world champions.
Sports Secretary Schnöll used his flying visit for a summit meeting with EJU President László TOTH, Vice Presidents Otto KNEITINGER, Hrvoje LINDI and Secretary General Martin POIGER (ÖJV President). “The judo camp in Mittersill is an absolute stroke of luck for the Pinzgau and for the state of Salzburg. Amateur judoka train side by side with top stars. The number of participants is simply impressive,” emphasized the 34-year-old from Salzburg.
On the fringes of the meeting, ÖJV President Martin Poiger and Stefan Schnöll discussed local sports initiatives for all population groups – from schoolchildren to seniors. “The goal must be to reach as many people as possible. We help with know-how and personnel. The subject of falling safely is always relevant,” Poiger affirmed.
