During the Gyor European Open 2024, upon entering the Audi Arena you could immediately find the EJU Fair Play Commission table, and with it some fun!
Co chair of the Fair Play Commission Mr GABOR Deregan had team activities prepared, for the young spectators, as well as athletes and staff. It was an engaging activity to promote positive work with one another, and afterwards, many were walking around the arena sporting ‘International Fair Play Committee’ bands.
Gabor stated,
The European Open is a competition for many young athletes, which is why is it important for the EJU Fair Play Commission to be present and raise awareness of the Fair Play values. Since the EJU has made Fair Play a priority, we have had stands at the major tournaments, where competitors, spectators and children can meet and play with us. These short games help us to quickly understand some of our core values, such as Respect, Team Spirit or Care. We also gave each visitor a small gift to remember FaIr Play when they go home. For a third year in a row, the EJU has launched tha Call for EJU Fair Play Nominations. Until 28 February this year, anyone can submit nominations for last season’s Fair Play acts to the following e-mail address: [email protected]
The most recent recipient of the Fair Play Award was Denis VIERU of Moldova for his incredible actions towards a big fan. Read all about it here.
