Arena Zagreb is the largest sports hall in Croatia. It was built in 2008, for the purpose of hosting the 21st Handball World Championship. Due to its beauty, functionality and importance, Arena Zagreb has become a new architectural symbol of the capital.
Arena Zagreb is fully equipped for various types of indoor sports events. The first event that took place in the newly built Arena was a friendly handball game with its’ maximum capacity of 15,200 spectators. From the ice hockey rink, to basketball and handball matches, as well as size and comfort of all locker rooms, Arena Zagreb is furnished to meet the requirements of whichever sport. Around mid spring, judo will take over all 15 thousand seats starting with a three-day stint of individual competition, concluded by the final day of the mixed team event.
