No rest for the Croatian Judo Federation as almost 400 judoka from 28 countries are heading to Dubrovnik for the annual senior European Cup. The arena called Sportska dvorana “Gospino polje” is ready for action.
According to the current list, the busiest weight category for men is, unusually, the -90kg with 51 entries where Toni MILETIC (BIH) is top seed, followed by Tigo RENES (NED) and German duet, Johann LENZ / Fabian KANSY. Not far off with 50 entires is the -73kg category where Jano RUEBO (GER), Ethan NARNIE (GBR), Adrian VESTE (MDA) and Luigi CENTRACCHIO (ITA) are amongst top four seed.
For the ladies, expectedly, the -63kg category received the most entires with the total of 29 judoka. Manon DEKETER (FRA) is the top seed athlete of this weight class with host hope, Nina SIMIC (CRO) following behind. Nadiah KRACHTEN (NED) with Aytaj GARDASHKHANLI (AZE) are landing in number three and four positions.
The host nation will rock the city of Dubrovnik with a sum of 47 judoka. Their highest ranked and potentially the most experience athlete of this group is Thea TOPOLOVEC (CRO) who will undertake all challenges in the -57kg category.
