Dr. Arnold BRONS is a medical professional, specifically a sports physician, who served as the team doctor for the Dutch National Judo Team from 2000 to 2016. Toward the end of that journey, around 2014, he joined the European Judo Union (EJU) as a member of the Medical Commission. A few years later, he also joined the International Judo Federation’s Medical Commission, serving both governing bodies with pride and unwavering dedication.
Today, during the opening ceremony of the inaugural Open European Judo Championships for Intellectual Impairment in Venray 2024, Dr. Brons was honored with the Plaque of Appreciation for his contributions to the EJU Medical Commission in 2023. Dr. Brons was visibly delighted by the recognition and expressed his gratitude for the moment.
I am deeply honoured to receive this award, and I am genuinely pleased and humbled by this recognition. However, I must say that I do this work because I truly love it and believe in its value. Receiving this award here in Venray, during such a meaningful and special event, makes it even more memorable and significant. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who chose me for this honour.
