Over the past two days, Mrs. Catarina RODRIGUES, EJU Vice President, and Mr. Martin POIGER, EJU General Secretary, visited Cyprus for an inspection and preparation meeting ahead of the European Championships for Small States 2024, scheduled for 2-3 November. The visit was key in ensuring that all preparations are on track.
The first stop was the competition venue, where the sport hall was thoroughly inspected. The team was pleased to learn that the facility is well-equipped and ready to meet the high standards required for the event. Besides the sport hall, hotels for athletes and officials were also reviewed, confirming they offer comfortable and convenient accommodations.
Furthermore, extensive meetings took place with the Local Organising Committee, led by President Mr. Sotos TRIKOMITIS and Technical Director Mr Christodoulides CHRISTODOULOS, highlighting their strong dedication and thorough preparation. EJU Executives have also engaged in meetings with the Cyprus Olympic Committee and the Cyprus Sport Organisation, discussing not only the upcoming event but also the positive development of judo in Cyprus.

From our perspective, it is evident that the Local Organising Committee is highly motivated and well prepared. We are optimistic that we will be able to provide further clarification and look forward to the event in Cyprus being a great success.
Cyprus will host the 2nd edition of the European Judo Championships Small States and with all the above information, all arriving visitors will undoubtedly have a comfortable stay.
