The opening ceremony of the Tata OTC was held on the morning of 8 March, where EJU President Dr. Toth Laszlo began with an opening speech, emphasising the importance of this camp in preparation not only for the European Championships but also for the World Championships, which will be held beginning of June in Budapest, Hungary. Mr. President also acknowledged and highlighted the start of the new Olympic cycle, marking the road to Los Angeles 2028.
Dr. Toth’s speech was followed by a short walk down memory lane, celebrating the champions of the Paris Olympic Games last year. With many of them currently present in Tata, it was a fitting moment to show appreciation in front of the judo family. In recognition, on behalf of the European Judo Union, presented by President Dr Toth Laszlo, they received the Paris Plaque alongside their coaches.
