On the last day of the Hungary World Judo Masters, Europe could secure a momentous victory and clinch all five gold medals, having three already assured.
Romane Dicko will try to defend her masters title successfully against compatriot Julia Tolofua in the +78-category. Further teammate Madeleine Malonga could even double France’s gold tally in -78kg against Inbar Lanir. Meanwhile, the reigning world champion aims to achieve the same feat for Israel together with Peter Paltchik, who will face Muzaffarbek Turoboyev (UZB) in the -100 final.
Like France, Georgia has already secured its gold. The only open question: who will win the rematch of the World Championship Final in Doha? World hampion Luka Maisuradze or Olympic champion Lasha Bekauri.
And last but not least there is Martti Puumalainen, who will try to put the cherry on top of a miraculous day for Finnish judo, by beating world-ranked number one Temur Rakhimov (TJK) in the +100 final.
Exciting questions, the answers to which we will know from 5 p.m. onwards, when the hours of glory will strike one last time at the final block of the Hungary World Judo Masters.
