The European University Sports Association (EUSA) hosted an exclusive gala dinner at the Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna to mark its 25th anniversary. About 200 guests from more than 40 nations were invited, including numerous representatives from European sports associations and university sports organisations. General Secretary Martin POIGER attended the event on behalf of EJU President László TOTH.
“EUSA President Adam RUCZEK and Secretary General Matjaz PECOVNIK are currently endeavouring to offer competitive athletes enrolled at universities better and more flexible training opportunities. The EUSA sports events programme is to be gradually expanded” reported Martin Poiger.
The next EUSA Games will take place in Salerno (ITA) in summer 2026. 5,000 participants from around 500 universities are expected. Next year, the EUSA Martial Arts Championships (for judo, karate, kickboxing and taekwondo) will be held in Warsaw (POL) from 22 to 25 August.
The European University Sports Association (EUSA) was founded in Vienna in 1999. The organisation’s headquarters are located in Ljubljana (SLO). University sports organisations from 47 nations are members of the EUSA. The European Judo Union has been working closely with the European University Sports Association for many years.
