Vladimir Barta, the IJF Head Sports Director, was really pleased at the end of the day: “The organization is perfect, even excellent, we can say,” explained Vladimir. “I am also really happy to see so many countries fighting for medals, of course, but also, just for the pleasure of simply participating”.
In fact, 77 countries are taking part in the judo events and today, one can discover small countries, which are not usually represented on the international judo level. It is certain that we will see some of the today’s competitors again in the future. It is also interesting to note the ippon rate: for example, in the two men’s categories, more than 70% of all fights ended with ippons, showing the good level of judo that was practiced here today.
