More than 250 international judokas trained in the Netherlands for an official EJU Training Camp. The training camp took place at Sportcenter Papendal. Judokas from more than thirty different countries were present. This was the perfect preparation for the upcoming World Championships in Baku and Junior European Championships in Sofia.
Director of Papendal, Jochem Schellens:
“We see this international training camp in Papendal as a good development. During the week, we have seen the unique features of our training center in a fantastic way. We received enthusiasm, pride and positive reactions from home and foreign top athletes and coaches. We are convinced that this training camp contributes more than a bit to the preparations of the World Championships for the judokas of TeamNL.”
Dutch head coach Maarten Arens:
“I am extremely satisfied about this training camp. This is partly due to the facilities of Sportcenter Papendal, but also due to the large international turnout. As a result, we have been able to take a good step in our own home base towards the world championships next month.”
