French athletes win 6 Finnish Open titles

At the Finnish Open Championships in Vantaa, France won the medal tally. On Sunday France added another three titles to the Saturday’s three and won the classification with 14 medals in total. Host nation Finland ended with one title, but gained five medals in total. Today Vadud Balatkhanov (FIN) lost the final U60kg Lilian Barreyre (FRA). Russia won four medals today, making five in total but no gold medal today. Oleg Vasiliev (RUS) lost the U66kg final to Diogo César (POR) who improved his silver medal of last year.

In the women’s category Sabrina Filzmoser (AUT) was successful in her favourite role. In her new category U63kg she now gained the title. Last week she lost the final in Sweden. But in Finland she could stand Virginie Henry (FRA).
Belgian Jennifer Arcq was satisfied with her win U70kg. It is one of her first main senior international titles.
Obviously Céline Lebrun (FRA) was the favourite U78kg to win the Finnish Open and she did. In the final she defeated Samantha Lowe (GBR). Her compatriot Sarah Adlington (GBR) won the heavy weight category.
