At the European Cup for Cadets in Zagreb the Italian team claimed the most gold medals. The Italian lightweight men took the two gold medals U50 and U55kg. The obvious and well known names won their weight category. U50kg ANgelo Pantano Italia judo inside" href="http://www.judoinside.com/judoka/view/84343/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Angelo Pantano, the small man with big potential defeated Belgian Jorre Verstraeten in the final. The Belgian Champion couldn’t prevent the Italian U21 champion Pantano to take the gold medal this year. Last year Pantano was third.
U55kg it was Elios Manzi JudoInside videos" href="http://www.judoinside.com/judoka/view/74781/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Elios Manzi who prolonged last year’s title in Zagreb. This edition he defeated Yaroslav Skopnenko (UKR), who won bronze last year.
The Ukraine did win gold, U60kg it was Bogdan Iadov who improved the fifth place of last year grabbing the gold in a field of 71 participants!
The final U66kg was amazing and won by Petar Zadro. The young man from Bosnia won his second European Cup in this age category and defeated Timo Allemann of Switzerland in the final. AN amazing number of 77 participants in this category. Zadro is the runner-up of the last European Championships in Bar (MNE).
In the women’s category four different nations claimed the victory in the four categories.
Tsvetelina Tsvetanova (BUL) was requested to come to the highest stage today to get the gold medal. The Bulgarian lightweight won U40kg against Lotti Misolczi (HUN). Last year she won bronze in Zagreb and bronze in Montenegro at the European Championships. The gold gives her a good outlook for the European Championships for Cadets in Estonia this year.
Marusa Stangar SLovenia judo" href="http://www.judoinside.com/judoka/view/85030/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Marusa Stangar (SLO) won the gold U44kg. Last year Anja Stangar won the gold U48kg. This edition Marusa defeated Camelia Ionita (ROU) in the final to claim her fourth victory of the day.
Reka Pupp Akos Braun" href="http://www.judoinside.com/judoka/view/65779/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Reka Pupp prolonged her success of last year and won the title U48kg. Last year she won U44kg. The Hungarian youngster defeated Mina Libeer of Belgium.
Shemesh Inbal is an Israelian rookie who took the title U52kg. She defeated Italian Champion Sofia Fiora, last year’s bronze medallist at the European’s.
