For the 2025 European Club Championships: Champions League, we are excited for the newly introduced format of the Mixed Teams. Traditionally seeing all-men and all-women teams, this edition will welcome the joint effort of men and women from 12 teams representing seven nations.
Montpellier has already played host to the Senior European Judo Championships on multiple occasions, so we know we can expect a knowledgable and fanatic crowd in the South of France, of course coming to support their home clubs including Montpellier Judo Olympic.
Six of the entries are French clubs, sporting Olympic medallists including Maxime Gael NGAYAP HAMBOU, representing A M Asnieres. The star-studded team however is Paris Saint-Germain, who have not only garnered superstars including Teddy RINER, Walide KHYAR, Margaux PINOT, Marie Eve GAHIE and Romane DICKO, but have invested in international talents; current Olympic silver medallist and recent Tokyo Grand Slam winner, MURAO Sanshiro (JPN) in the -90kg category, +100kg Olympic bronze medallist, Alisher YUSUPOV (UZB) and 2024 World silver medallist in the -73kg category, ISHIHARA Tatsuki (JPN).
With some of the worlds best taking to the tatami this weekend on Saturday 21st December, all eyes will be on Montpellier once again. Don’t miss the live action on JudoTV!
