The European Judo Union (EJU) Education Commissioner Katja RUDAS and Education Director Ronnie SAEZ, brought their expertise to the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia on May 24th and 25th, 2024. This exciting event marked a major milestone for the Erasmus+ project “Jita Kyoei 2 – Together for a better society,” co-funded by the European Union, as it continues to drive positive change in the world of judo.
Day One
The meeting kicked off with an inspiring welcome speech that set the stage for an action-packed day. Participants dove into a thorough evaluation of the project’s progress since their last gathering, ensuring everything stays on the right track.
A dynamic workshop followed, featuring two innovative new games introduced in a dojo setting. These games captivated young judokas, emphasizing the core values of judo through interactive and enjoyable activities.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to reviewing the implementation of Local Training Course 1, organized by project partner clubs. This was complemented by an in-depth discussion on the syllabus and methodology, ensuring all educational materials meet top-tier standards.
Participants then engaged in a workshop, where various exercises and games were tested with judokas aged 8-12. This hands-on session aimed to teach and reinforce key judo values in an engaging manner.
Day Two
The second day opened with a comprehensive review of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and the EJU Clubs Quality Label Attribution Platform. This was followed by an insightful session on dissemination activities, focusing on strategies to share the project’s findings and methodologies widely.
Discussions then turned to planning the next steps, including upcoming project meetings. This crucial planning session set the course for the project’s future trajectory.
The meeting wrapped up with final reflections, summarizing the achievements of the past two days and reaffirming the commitment to the project’s goals.
Katja shared her thoughts on the meeting, stating,
We have made significant progress in the Jita Kyoei 2 project, diligently working on the content for the Jita Kyoei Massive Open Online Course. This course, soon to be available on the EJU E-platform, will provide valuable resources for young judokas and coaches. Additionally, we are thrilled about the development of the EJU Clubs Quality Label Attribution Platform, which will help judo clubs achieve and maintain high standards.
The 3rd Transnational Project Meeting showcased the collaborative efforts and dedication of all participants. As the project continues to evolve, the focus remains on enhancing the educational experience for young judokas and elevating the quality of judo clubs across Europe.
