As the final veteran European Cup took place in Tbilisi ahead of the continental championships, the Georgian team ensured to show governance on home soil winning 17 gold, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals. Second finish gone to Tajikistan with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze collection whilst Kazakhstan took third place with the single remaining gold medal left available.
Rerouting towards the host nation, Georgia was undisturbed through most male divisions and besides a single slip in the M5 -90kg and M7 -90kg, they have had a weekend of brilliance. Due to low entries amongst the female categories an official competition could not be held this time.
Now all veteran judoka’s focus will turn to Sarajevo where the European Judo Championships Veteran 2024 going to be held from 6-9 June. Hundreds of judoka will gather in Bosnia and Herzegovina from all over Europe. It is not too late to register.
