Raz Hershko won gold on the last day of the individual events of the European Judo Championships Senior Zagreb 2024. Despite Hershko now having three senior European medals, it was the first time that it had come with the title as well. The road to victory required additional focus.
I feel amazing, it is my third time in the final in a row and I finally won gold. I am very happy, especially because today, every contest I had was against someone I lost previously or at our last bout but I felt so good today. When I woke up this morning I said to myself I am gonna do it, for 100%. I took all the mistakes and with the coaches we worked on it both at home and at the training camps. We analysed why those mistakes happened, we worked on them and learned what can I do to be better. Of course, I still have more to work on ahead of the Olympics but I started to see some good points, so I am happy.
What’s next?
Next is the World Championships and of course we continue to work and go for training camps to reach our goals and to become Olympic Champion.
