Following the successful 1st Scientific-Professional Conference and Practical Demonstrative Activities of Adapted Judo, it has been confirmed that the Adapted European Championships will be held in Italy in 2025. This is of the request of Italian Judo who are very excited to be more involved with this programme.
Already we have the Get Together Tour which is established for 2024, taking place in Croatia, Great Britain, Poland and the Netherlands. This year will be concluded by the Adapted European Championships which will also be held in the Netherlands.
President of the European Judo Union, Dr TOTH Laszlo is of course very happy with the development of adapted judo and is delighted that this work will continue further. FIJLKAM President, Mr Domenico Falcone has been working towards this for a long time now,
A long time ago we started with this project at club level, but during our teaching course, we were asked to find ways to improve the project to national level for adapted judo. This resulted in projects such as Katautism and Simone’s Adventure, and we want to be one of the first countries in Europe to start with this European Championships. For the past five years, Adapted Judo Championships are together with the ‘regular’ Championships here in Italy, we want to include these athletes and we are proud to be next to host this important event.
