The first junior European Cup 2024 is going to take place in Sarajevo this weekend with over 300 judoka from 23 nations heading to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The host nation seeks to endeavour with over four-dozen of their best juniors.
Athletes are joining from all the way to Canada and the United States of America. The latter has a solo traveller with Nancy NGUYEN (USA / -70kg) whilst their neighbourhood are ready to go with a total of 13 judoka. Cyprus is turning up with a middle and a heavy weight to try their chances, namely, Theocharis KARATSAOUSIDIS (CYP / -90kg) and Andreas YIAPANIS (CYP / +100kg). Another single explorer is Liljana NEDANOVSKA (MKD / -63kg). It is going to be the first international appearance for Dmitrii EFIMENKO (INA) in respect to an official EJU event. Croatia, Germany, Ukraine, Türkiye and Poland are all attending with a sizeable strong team. The event will take place at the Sport hall ” Arena” Hotel Hills which will be followed by a three-day training camp.
