NO SECOND TITLE FOR TEDDY

European Club Championships - Champions League

NO SECOND TITLE FOR TEDDY

It remains a single Champions League victory for Teddy RINER (FRA), at least for the time being. The long-awaited first success with Paris Saint-Germain will not materialize. That was already clear by midday on Saturday. The French team lost 3-1 to OJK Belgrade in the European Club Championships semi-final, the +90-win of the three-time Olympic and 11-time world champion was not enough. Paris SG will only fight for bronze at the European Club Championships – Champions League against Golden Gori (GEO/after 16:00).

Teddy Riner’s outward appearance after losing the semi-final with his team was not noticeable. He put on a good face. The Serbian fans, mainly children and teenagers, excitedly shouted his name and asked for autographs and selfies. Teddy smiled, posed for selfies and signed autographs. In between, he gave his first interviews.

Of course we had the team to do it, we had everything we needed to go all the way that day and we had a good feeling about it, so it’s a shame. It’s a shame because we didn’t get rewarded. We deserved to go to the final. We deserved to win this Champions League. Now we have to move on,

said Teddy.

My objective today was the Champions League, now that’s it. We will continue getting ready for the Paris Games 2024. In any case, it’s enabled me to have two fights and continue to take information and enjoy my state of form. That’s the important thing to remember.”

PSG – with Romane Dicko, Amandine Buchard, Marie-Eve Gahie and Lucy Renshall, among others – are in the women’s final for gold. Their opponents are the countrywomen from JC Pontault Combault.
