Just like on Friday, Europe has at least one gold medal assured on the second day of the Hungary World Judo Masters in Budapest. In the final of the 70 kg category (9th bout after 5 pm), Sanne VAN DIJKE (NED) and Elisavet TELTSIDOU (GRE) will face each other. The head-to-head is 2:2 and this is the third time this year that the two meet in a World Tour final. In the last two duels – both this year, in Astana in June and in Antalya in March – the Greek, currently number 8 in the IJF ranking, prevailed. The last victory of the Dutchwoman, Olympic bronze medallist and number 4 seed, was two years ago. Defending champion Michaela POLLERES (AUT) will fight for bronze against current world champion Saki NIIZOE (JPN).
Other chances for European Masters titles are Laura FAZLIU (KOS/-63), who will face defending champion Miku TAKAICHI (JPN) in the final, and Matthias CASSE (BEL/-81) – he will meet Guilherme SCHIMIDT (BRA).
