You can take one thing for granted: The year of 2023 will offer lots of top-class Judo – including a total of 90 events organised by the EUROPEAN JUDO UNION (EJU). The new Judo Year will be kicking off at the Olympic Training Camp in the mountain town of MITTERSILL (AUT, 9. – 17.1.) with more than 800 judoka from 45 countries including 7 IJF World Ranking leaders, 14 Olympic champions and 5 World Championships gold medal winners.
The first international competitions will be held a few weeks later – all on European soil: The IJF World Tour starts in ALMADA (POR/27. – 29.01), the first of a total of 8 Grand Slam tournaments will be staged in PARIS (FRA/4./5.2.), the Olympic Host City of 2024.
The first EJU competition in 2023 will be held in SOFIA (BUL/European Open/11./12.02.), the 90th and final stop of the year will be in BELGRADE (SRB/European Club Championships, Champions League and Europa League/9./10.12.). The IJF prime events this year will be the World Championships in Doha (QAT/7.-14.5.), the Masters in Budapest (HUN/4.-6.8.), the World Championships Juniors in Coimbra (POR/4.-8.10.), the World Championships Cadets in Zagreb (CRO/23.-27.8.) as well as the World Championships Kata (2./3.11.) and the World Championships Veterans (5.-8.11.) both staged in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
