For the first time since lockdown in Europe began, the EJU were able to hold a face to face seminar.
Co-organised by the Luxembourg Judo Federation, the french regional federation, Ligue Grand Est de Judo and the Judo-Confederation of the Greater Region, Interreg Judo Cooperation, the seminar was a great success.
The Improve Your Club seminars are always a hit, this time held in Saint-Avold, France. The EJU believes that the education and development of club coaches should be treated with the same importance given to national coaches, as that is where the elite athletes start off. Quality, basic teaching is essential to enable athletes to eventually reach their full potential.
EJU Vice President Jane Bridge, whose main focus is education within the EJU was present during this seminar, leading the way back to normality and of course offering her expertise to local members.
Tom Schmit, Vice President of the Luxembourg Judo Federation was happy to bring together judo family members,
It was a real pleasure to be able to propose, maintain and organise this seminar despite the current health situation. It was wonderful to see people having fun and being happy to finally be back on the judo mat and to share this moment with us. The health protocol in force in this French region was obviously respected.
There was a total of 99 attendees, including Mr Serge Schaul, President of the Luxembourg Judo Federation and Mr Jean-Louis Duvergey, President of the French regional federation, Ligue Grand Est de Judo. There were official cameramen to record the event which is available via the link below.
Hopefully this is a sign of more to come in regions where it is allowed under government guidance and protocol.
