The 4th edition of the Judo Festival will take place from the 10-18 of June 2017. Once again, it will be allocated in the beautiful seaside city of Poreč (Croatia), hosted by the European Judo Union and the Croatian Judo Federation alongside with the assistance of the City of Poreč and the “Laguna Poreč — Hotels, Resorts & Camping”.
The Judo Festival is a magnificent opportunity to spend time with the family with each family member given the opportunity to choose an activity best suited for each of them, yet, at the same time, remain together in one big close-friendly Judo Family; because “Judo is more than sport!”
The festival begins with an «Improve Your Club» seminar (10 – 12 June). During this seminar, EJU experts, Patrick Roux and Jean-Pierre Gibert will teach judo coaches for technical development when teaching young judoka aged 8 – 12 years.
Judoka U16 will have the special honour to join the training sessions with over 400 top judo stars from all across the World as exactly at the same time the OTC – Going for Gold – will also take place in Porec. The OTC is one of the favourite training opportunity for high performance athletes; its value underlines by frequent attendance of all European medal winners of the 2016 Rio Olympics. Every training session will be under the leadership of well-known judo experts.
The Kids Family Camp marked a very success story last year. Children and parents together will be on the tatami enjoying all different activities set by skilled trainers. In this particular program, besides the dojo, there are activities set outside in addition to a number of other entertaining and educational lessons.
«Women’s Judo Get Together» is going to celebrate its premiere. In Porec, for the first time, we will be launching the new EJU women’s group and we are expecting women involved in judo in any form from all over Europe; coaches, club players, competitors, referees. The idea is to have all women practicing together on the mat, have some coaching tips from top women’s coaches whilst some of the elite female players will show their techniques. There will also be a discussion about women in judo, how to promote, inspire, support them. By the end of the weekend, ideally the project brought women closer together to start to create a network between, perhaps explore new friendships with a common passion, improve our judo and most importantly, have a great time together.
Eight days of unforgettable holidays – this festival offers a diversified programme for all age groups. It is also an opportunity for judo friends to meet and enjoy judo in a fantastic Mediterranean surrounding.
