During the 54th European Olympic Committees (EOC) General Assembly, held in Frankfurt on February 28th and March 1st, EJU Vice President, Catarina RODRIGUES attended as a representative of EJU President, Dr. Laszlo TOTH.
There were a number of announcements made during the two-day event, however the highlight points that concern the European Judo Union included;
- Executive Committee Elections:
- Spyros Capralos was re-elected as EOC President for another term.
- Paris 2024 Olympic Games Report
- Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) Presentation:
- Vice President Rodrigues took opportunity to have productive conversations regarding the GSSE with:
- The Andorra National Olympic Committee, organisers of the 2025 edition.
- The Monaco National Olympic Committee, organisers of the 2027 edition.
- Vice President Rodrigues took opportunity to have productive conversations regarding the GSSE with:
- European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Presentations:
- Updates were given on the preparations for the Skopje EYOF 2025.

Vice President Rodrigues is confident moving forward with the organisation of the GSSE and EYOF;
On the second day, the EOC General Assembly provided a valuable opportunity to receive reports on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, engage in productive conversations with Andorra and Monaco regarding their upcoming Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) editions, and receive updates on the preparations for the Skopje 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF). Importantly, the Assembly also confirmed the future of the EYOF event, with organisers approved and event allocated until 2031.
Already it was announced that Istanbul will be the host city of the European Games in 2027. Now that the General Assembly has concluded, we know it will take place in Budapest next year.
